Minnesota’s candidates for office are literally campaigning through the night to make their final appeal to voters, many of whom are still undecided with just two days to go before the election.
In Minnesota’s race for the Attorney General’s Office, 12 percent of voters have yet to make up their mind on a candidate. Taking notice, prominent Democratic-Farmer-Labor (DFL) Party candidates are now openly campaigning with and for Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN-05) in their final push.
Minnesota’s First Avenue and Seventh Street Entry music venue hosted a DFL get-out-the-vote concert Friday night where Tim Walz’s running mate, Peggy Flanagan and State Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minneapolis) appeared alongside Ellison on stage.
“Thank you to my friends IlhanMN and Peggy Flanagan for joining me tonight at First Avenue to celebrate get out the vote!” Ellison tweeted. “Join us in the final three days.”

Flanagan, tweeting a picture of herself on stage, asked her followers to “rock the vote this Tuesday” and “vote DFL.”
“Tell your family, your friends, and your neighbors to GOTV. There’s too much at stake this election,” she added.

During the concert-campaign hybrid, Flanagan condemned the “politics of hate and division” demonstrated by Republicans because “up and down the ballot that is all they’re selling.”
“The thing about being a progressive is that you are constantly pushing somebody every single day towards a more productive, a more equitable, just society,” Omar, who is running to succeed Ellison in Minnesota’s Fifth Congressional District, added, according to Fox 9.
Ellison was encouraged by the turnout, revealing that his “volunteer base is mostly young people.”
“We have a lot of volunteers who are showing up who are millennials and a lot of activity on campus so I’ve been very encouraged,” he told Fox 9.
Earlier in the day, Ellison held is final press conference of the campaign, and was again joined by Omar as well as State Rep. Erin Maye Quade (D-Apple Valley).
“Standing up and supporting Ellison campaign because Doug Wardlow will not be an attorney general for all Minnesotans, but only those who look, pray, and think like him,” Omar wrote after the conference. “We need to spend the next three days spreading this message—for the good of the people of our state.”
On Thursday, during one of the DFL’s first stops on its bus tour, Sen. Tina Smith (D-MN) made a similar plea to voters, telling the audience that “Ellison is going to make a terrific attorney general candidate.”
